Race Day Parking
Be sure you give yourself enough time race morning to arrive on time. Parking is available inside Tropical Park until the gates close at 6:30 AM. If you are coming only for the Kids Trot, gates will reopen at 8:30 AM at which time cars may begin entering the park. Entrances located on Bird Road at SW 79th Ave and SW 82nd Ave. BE ON TIME.
Kids Race participants should report to their respective starting area featured on the map below. Locations will be marked by corresponding signage.
Blue: 2–3 year-olds
Green: 4-5 year-olds
Red: 6-7 year-olds
Yellow: 8-9 year-olds
Those unsure of their exact starting location will meet promptly at 9:15 AM near the Stage in the Finish Fest. A staff member will then direct participants to the corresponding starting area per age category (see on map below).
The races will start at 9:30 AM, beginning with the youngest age group (2-3 year-olds), followed by rolling starts of the next oldest age group through the 8-9 year-old group who will start last.
All Kids Race participants will be funneled into their own corralling area just past the Finish Line where parents are to meet and retrieve their children immediately following their child’s race wave. *IMPORTANT* Parents/guardians MUST remove the “Guardian” tab from their child’s bib prior to race start which will be used to retrieve their child from the corralling area at the Finish Line.
Parents may NOT run on the track with their children and must remain on the grassy areas next to the track.
